Happy Thanksgiving !!

 USM Fall Annual Tournament 

Three players from our club - Hunter, Mia and Evelyn - attended the USM tournament on Saturday and played some very nice matches!

• Hunter took 2 wins and Mia took 2-1/2
• Evelyn, in her very first tournament, took 3 out of 5 and finished 8th place in the K8 UNR section!!

Congratulations to all, you represented our club well!

Time now for our own tournament at LDMS on Dec 3rd!

Brookfield East 

Congratulations to Anthony & Luke for getting the chess tournament season kicked off on Saturday at Brookfield East High School!

Anthony went 4-1 and took 3rd place in K8 division, while Luke went 2-2 in the K12 division.

Next up will be USM on November 19!

 MSCC classes have finished for the school year.

 No chess this week (March 23) - Spring Break 

 WI Scholastic Chess Championship

As is tradition, the MSCC joined the annual chess championship held at UW Oshkosh this past weekend!  It is typically our year-end event,  and even though it was a down year in terms of participation due to spring breaks and other factors we still had a great time!  A total of about 285 players from around the State joined this event that lasted for 5 or 6 rounds (depending on the section) over 2 days.

This event was organized & run by Mike Nietman of the Wisconsin Chess Association, and it ran smoothly as always.

We were only able to bring 3 players this year, but Anthony, Sophia and Mia played very well, and we also had fun hanging out with the McKinley & Whitman players in their team room (thanks Coach Seghers!).

• Over 6 rounds of G60/90 minute matches, both Sophia and Mia won 3 of the matches.  This was the first year at State for either of them and they did an excellent job!

K8

• Also over 6 rounds of G60/90 minute matches, Anthony won 5 of the matches and took home the 5th place trophy!

All represented their schools and our club very well, and we're very proud of them!
